I started song-writing in 2006. I had dabbled with poetry and creative writing much earlier than that, but the songwriting bug really hit around then. I initially released a demo that was well received, and that led to a full album called Follow the Sun, which was released in December 2007. The album did quite well and received substantial airplay across Australian Community Radio.
I received AMRAP artist of the month in May 2008.

Most of those early songs can be found here www.myspace.com/phillipragan

In September 2009 I released a single called Dance with me.

It was around about this time, that I had a dabble at electronic music and released a song called In the clouds.
Needless to say electronic music wasn't my highest calling!

In August 2011 I released a 6 track EP called Windswept, which given the limited budget I had to work with, was fairly well received, especially the track Emily Come Home which received substantial airplay.

In October 2012 I re-released Dance with me, and published some of my poetry and writing, now using the name South of the Clouds. www.soundcloud.com/southoftheclouds

In March 2013 I put 6 songs together and released an EP independently called Keep on Rolling, again using the South of the Clouds title. Later that year, I switched to using Phil Ragan rather than Phillip, and released a single called Golden Streets.

In March 2014 I released a 6 track E.P called Freedom comes from within.

In September 2014 I finally finished my 2nd full album, Several Thousand Dreams, Switching back to using Phillip Ragan on my Mother's advice!

In 2015, I re-released an old song from my first album, called Be Someone my friend

later that year, I released a song called Solitude is a sensation.

In November 2015 I moved to Melbourne, Victoria, recording several songs in 2016 as I began performing at various venues around the city. In December 2016, I released my 3rd album, Framework.

Around this time, I wrote and released a Christian song called Walk into the light which again can be found at https://phillipragan.bandcamp.com/track/walk-into-the-light-2

In early 2017 I released my first full Christian album, Parameters, which can be found at
phillipragan.bandcamp.com/album/parameters

In April 2019, my wife Rachel and I moved to the Tamar Valley in Tasmania where we plan to settle. The area has certainly inspired me and I have just released a new album called By the Tamar, which is a Christian album with a slight Tamar Valley feel to it
as 5 of the songs feature towns or localities in this beautiful region. You can listen to the album in it's entirety for free or
purchase for $10 at www.phillipragan.bandcamp.com/album/by-the-tamar

Finally, to anyone who's ever encouraged me on this musical journey, be it with positive feedback, an interview, airplay on a radio show, a new chord or lyric or simply to encourage with your kind words and well wishes...
Thank you I appreciate it!

Best Regards
Phil
