I started song-writing in 2006. I had dabbled with poetry and creative writing much earlier than that, but the song-writing bug really hit me around then. I initially released a demo that was well received, and that led to a full album called Follow the Sun, which was released in December 2007. The album did quite well and received substantial airplay across Australian Community Radio and
I received AMRAP artist of the month in May 2008.
Most of those early songs can be found here www.myspace.com/phillipragan
I then had a break from recording music until September 2009, when I released a single called Dance with me.
It was around about this time, that I had a dabble at electronic music and released a song called In the clouds.
Needless to say electronic music wasn't my highest calling!
In August 2011 I released a 6 track EP called Windswept, which given the limited budget I had to work with, was fairly well received,
especially the track Emily Come Home which received substantial airplay.
In October 2012 I re-released Dance with me, and published some of my poetry and writing, now using the name South of the Clouds. www.soundcloud.com/southoftheclouds
In March 2013 I put 6 songs together and released an EP independently called Keep on Rolling, again using the South of the Clouds title. Later that year, I switched back to using my real name, and released a single called Golden Streets. www.soundcloud.com/philragan
In March 2014 I released a 6 track E.P called Freedom comes from within
In September 2014 I finally finished my 2nd full album, Several Thousand Dreams which you can buy for $10 or listen to at
In April 2015, I re-released an old song from my first album, called Be Someone my friend.
In late 2015, I released a song called Solitude is a sensation.
In November 2015 I moved to Melbourne, Victoria, I recorded several songs in 2016 and began performing at small venues around the city. Later that year in December, I released my 3rd album, Framework.
In early 2017 I wrote and released a Christian song called Walk into the light which again can be found at www.phillipragan.bandcamp.com
In 2017 I was accepted for online distribution by Amrap.
This has been great and allowed for more exposure and airplay across Australian community radio.

I am currently working on my 4th album, Parameters, and hope to release this by the end of the 2017.
3 of the songs from this new album, Don't suppress your love , The Symphony of a thousand dreams and Great South Land can be found on my bandcamp page.
Finally, to anyone who's ever encouraged me on this journey, be it with constructive criticism, positive feedback, an interview, airplay, a new chord or lyric or simply your kind words and well wishes... I appreciate it :)
